I, for one, cannot wait for my next Mormon missionary at the door so I can invite them in for coffee.
What can you say to a religion that considers coffee a sin?
But seriously, the San Juan Catholic Seminars has a set of great apologetic books, simply but thoroughly going after many doctrinal points. The biggest problem with Mormonism is that they do not believe in Holy Trinity (therefore Jesus not God), they hold seances to ask the dead to be “baptized,” and of course, they do it all so the men can have their own planet in “heaven” and many wives to populate therein.
Thank you, Patrick. Have not met any LDS teams. Such matters do not interest my wife, so I shan't let them in if they visit. It seems easy for me, as you point out. Jesus says the Church He is beginning will last. He also says "I AM with you always". LDS insists Jesus' cannot be trusted, that such words are lies. Enough! A Jesus who lies is not the real Jesus, nor do I need any God who lies. LDS, their angel, their book, and their deity, are from Hell, I believe. So is anyone, including me, who accuses Jesus, as LDS do, of lying to us.
Neat article. Yeah whoever they bring up the great apostasy canard i immediately body slam the with 3 questions 1) when did it but inly besae Koehappen? 2) who chronicaled it? 3) how do we know they're reliable. They also waved the Jesus wars book like Mao's and nuked them hard by pointing out it's an HISTORIAN'S OPINION not a theological opinion. 3) don't get started on apostolic succession.🙄
1prominent LDS apologist on twitter has softened his stance on the apostasy canard only because Joe Heschmayer rebutted him.
Mormanism is strong in my little town in Montana and the draw is "they are such good strong families and people and take care of their own" but...they lack the truth and do not have the Eucharist. Christ died for the truth and to save our souls - why would we settle for less? My old boss was a Mormon bishop and I would have to take business trips with him. One day after a lot of discussion on faith matters he looked at me and said "you would be a good Mormon" to which I replied "I think I make a pretty good Catholic" and he burst out laughing so at least it was an amiable exchange and he didn't try to convert me after that. Hee hee! I also have wonderful Protestant friends that used to ask me "why are you Catholic?" with the thought to convert me as well and I truly had not a good answer! Then our parish received a true gift - a priest who converted from the Anglican church and was able to tell why HE was Catholic! It was like blinders came off my eyes and I truly started hungering for and not just following what I knew instinctively was the truth! So blessed to be Catholic! Have a good answer for your faith and thank you once again, Patrick! I am working on our church library and your books have a special place on the shelves!

Mormons, just like JW’s, have too many weird practices and false beliefs to even categorize them as a religion; they are cults.
Patrick, I notice you rarely let any pesky radio callers "take the lead." Important lesson learned early. Keep up the good work!
