I’ve read this article a couple of times and I’m having a hard time finding the distinction between venerating and idolizing. What is that fine line? I hear catholics give credit to saints quite a bit when the credit should go to God or I’ll be at a cathedral and watch those there kiss the statues or bow to them. I get the concept asking for intercessions and using the statues to help our faith but what would be the line? what am I missing?
Thank you again!

Great article rich in citations from scripture and philosophy. Thank you, this has helped my understanding and my apologetic tool kit :)
Sometimes a distraction in prayer can be overcome by simply seeing a statue or picture of the Sacred Heart. This turns us back to prayer.
Amen to that!
Ideas can become idols as well. Anything that preoccupies our mind can become an idol too.
